Day 14 - Among Books in Copenhagen

In Copenhagen, I wandered into its libraries and bookstores—quiet sanctuaries tucked between cafés and cobbled lanes. Shelves reached up like cathedrals of thought, filled with stories in languages I couldn’t read, yet somehow understood. The hush inside felt sacred, like the city itself paused to listen.

There’s something timeless about spaces where words live longer than people. Even without speaking Danish, I could feel the pulse of curiosity, the comfort of pages turning, the soft murmur of readers lost in worlds of their own.

Books remind us that belonging isn’t always about place—it’s about resonance. You don’t need to understand every word to feel at home among them.

It took me back to afternoons in Indian bookstores, where dust floated in golden light and silence felt like company. The same peace followed me here, across continents, through shelves of unfamiliar alphabets.

Perhaps home isn’t where we’re born, but where the words around us feel alive.
